Nice sound, -

I like all the heavy hits and 'breathing'
but im just not feeling that snare,
Without the snare, and maybe even slowed a bit, this is epic.
cold, wistful and melancholy for sure. keep it up man.

RDMSound responds:

Thanks for the tip! I'm glad you enjoyed it for the most part. The snare didn't really turn out quite the way I wanted. It ended up being mostly to the left. I am going to have to leave in a snare of some kind though because it just feels "naked" without one. I will continue work on this track though. I'm not very experienced at mastering and my mastering technique is pretty sloppy so I think I will have a buddy of mine work on the mastering for me. I have a remix of this song coming out soon from a project called "Gestalt Based Audio". You can check 'em out at soundcloud.

digging the melody

Why not drop the beat drums to a lower, grittier industrial sound?
With a change like that the tempo could be brought down a bit as well.
It might be my own personal preference speaking here but, I like where this is going.

masterhappyboy responds:

that's brilliant point drew. let me try that tempo. :)

SO CLEAN.

This is real nice. Big respect.

so smoothhhhh

crazy digging this jam. the bass hits perfect with the guitar sound. hard to accomplish that... i felt a need for more of a strings sound in the background but it played real nice. dont stop now! -drew

wow.

it starts like rain. and is awesomely done. very nice.

HAHA!!!

Hell yes. This brought back everything for that game. Epic to say the least. Well Done... now where is that damn cartridge?

I prayed you were refering to Oot when i saw this

and i am not even finished listening, just hit 00:34 and those strings ripped through my Zelda born heart. lol. the overall mood of this entire song is so dead on to what i liked about Oot... the music made that game in my opinion. and this remix made my night. thanks for sharing.

woot

great mix

not a critque, i like this alot-

but you asked for suggestions so here goes.
when i get to a boss in a level, i want to be "scared" out of my mind.
(just because the bosses usually make the game)
so while what you have here is awesome, i am not that scared.

nice fade in at the beginning, but an intro, almost explosion of a chord, or just a drum pound would really announce that you've arrived at the boss.

i like the low bass drum every fourth i hear, but the other drums don't have much power, honestly i think just with some heavier, more African tribal sounding hits, this would be way more intense.

good luck! even as is i look forward to finding this somewhere. :]

ramosjus responds:

thanks, I appreciate the constructive feedback. I agree 100% with your point about the drums, Im going to try and put an updated version sometime this week.

its nice to see others raving about this

absolutely awesome. 5-10. cheers

Karco responds:
